Been awhile - today was great

Yikes, it's been awhile. I still need to write a collective post about the end result of my Davis vs. Cal Poly debate. I guess that will have to wait a bit, seeing as I havne't even started yet.

Anyway, today was a pretty great day. I had an interview with Potrero Media at 2 pm, and I was insanely nervous. After reading the job posting over and over and realizing how little I knew just made me really self-conscious of my abilities. I thought that they would test me with a bunch of coding problems and I would be left speechless and confused the whole time.

So I started the day, left at 1. When I got to BART, the train was RIGHT there waiting for me, how awesome. After only 2 stops, which was somewhat of a surprise, I arrived at 24th and Mission. And dang this place was scary. A mix of shady people all along the streets. Mexican markets and gang graffiti everywhere. I was kind of curious on how their office looked. After a few minutes and getting lost once, I finally stumbled on the place. A closed store to the left and I think some rundown store on the right. Squeezed in between was a nice looking door that said Potrero Media.

I was here a bit earlier than expected, so walked over to McDonalds and got some medium fries. This really nice guy sitting next to me let me borrow the sporting green of today's chronicle and even offered the rest of the paper when he left - jeez he was nice. I then walked back to Potrero and called Erik to open the door. He came down and my reaction was: damn. I felt like Harry Potter in Order of the Phoenix when he first walked into Sirius' mansion. There was a long dark corridor and a big staircase going up at the end. I walked up and then sat down in this semi-dark but beautiful conference room. There were luxurious leather computer chairs and this gigantic 40" LCD screen on the wall.

So I talked to Erik for a bit, I described what I did at Good Works again and talked about what Potrero Media did too. Then came Ben and I basically asked the same stuff. It was good and a lot easier than what I thought. I talked to Erik again tonight and will hopefully talk to him again next week about being hired!

Thats all for now, peace
